Regeneration

Regeneration arose from the remnants of a birch tree that was an integral part of my environment for over 30 years. Because of disease, the birch tree had to be chopped down and in the resulting dead twigs, branches and logs, a narrative unfolded regenerating the life force of the tree. Marks generated by discarded and degenerated parts of a birch tree are used to create the essence and spirit of the tree itself.
