Drawing

Drawing is a means to explore the "skeletal bones" of the landscape and the idea of the layered structures and forms of land, geology, culture, history and time. Through gestured mark making I map out the forms and the relationship of the geology, the vegetation and the sense of space and place. In Margis Akra and Veils, the grid format serves to reinforce this layering. Utilizing multiple images to build up a sense of place and time the simultaneity of views forces the viewer to travel through the images mapping their own journey across space and time.
